Would you like cold calls on pensions banned?

There’s discussion afoot in the financial adviser community around the merits of banning unsolicited emails and telephone calls for investments and pensions. The number of scams which come through this route could be doing more harm than those offering genuine help.

Ros Altmann herself today stated on Twitter ‘If anyone cold calls you about your pension ‘Just Hang Up’! A ‘free review’ is probably a scam, don’t fall for it.’

As you’re the poor sods getting the calls, I thought you should be invited into the discussion. Maybe you’d miss some of those unsolicited calls, are some useful? What about emails?

Take a look here for more information and you can sign the Government petition if you agree they should be banned.
