What pensions lack in excitement they more than make for up in complexity, and with so much conflicting information and advice about it’s hardly surprising many of us bury our heads in the sand and ignore the whole subject, especially if we are a long way off retirement age.

But it’s vitally important to be as well-informed as you can be about pensions.  We need to know what we will be entitled to from the state, and when; what our employers might offer and how we can save towards our own retirement.  Latest figures show today’s pensioners have less support from the Government than in 1950, with the basic state pension now just 15.9% of average earnings, compared to 18.4% back then.

Our online guides cut through the jargon and tell you what you need to know at every stage of your working life, from starting out to retirement, with clear information and practical advice.
