Ikea is launching a sim-only mobile phone package, which it claims is the UK's cheapest PAYG on the market. The deal will be offered from the end of this week to members of the furniture retailer's loyalty programme, known as Ikea Family.

The package is being offered in partnership with Mobile Partners UK and the company says there are no hidden charges. Scheme members pay only for the air time they use at the rate of 9p a minute for all UK calls and 6p for all UK text messages – any day, any time. 

Jason Baker, Ikea UK customer relationship manager, said: “In the current climate where every penny counts, Ikea is offering another benefit to our loyal customers. You can’t control the rising costs of petrol, utility bills or food but by being at least 25% cheaper than any other comparable pay-as-you-go offer, Family Mobile can help you take control of your mobile phone costs.”

The package is on offer only to Ikea's 1.4 million Family scheme members in the UK, but you can sign up to the scheme easily here.

The sim-only requires no contract,  no minimum spend and customers can keep their existing number. Accounts can be managed online at www.familymobile.co.uk.
