The CashQuestions site is financed by advertising and sponsorship, and by commission revenue derived from sales "clickthroughs." The CashQuestions team believes that, as intelligent adults, site users will be able to distinguish between advertising and editorial material and assures site users that the editorial independence of CashQuestions is not compromised by the fact that advertising appears on the site.
CashQuestions is emphatic that the appearance of any advertising, sponsorship or paid-for link in no way indicates the endorsement by CashQuestions of products promoted within that advertising, sponsorship or paid-for link-material.
Further, CashQuestions assures site users that no product would ever be promoted, recommended or indeed even mentioned in the editorial sections of the site solely because of any advertising or revenue considerations.
CashQuestions believes that site users understand that services need to be paid for, and unless these services are supported by charitable donations this means that revenue needs to come from a commercial source.
It believes that whether this revenue comes from "clickthroughs" from recommended products, commercial links for the distribution of guides, book publishing deals or other commerical enterprises, or from display advertising is immaterial as long as the editorial is credible and independent.
No site that claims to be "advertisement-free" and that takes revenue from "clickthroughs" is any more or less independent than a similar site that accepts advertising revenue, as long as the editorial is similarly independent.
The CashQuestions editorial team comprises journalists with a nationally recognised reputation whose independence should not be doubted.
******
The publishing by site users of advertising material or links to other websites on the bulletin board section of the site in order to promote products or services for the poster's financial gain will be considered to be "spam" and is strictly forbidden without permission from the CashQuestions management. This rule extends to the publication of "referral links" to other websites and links for charity fundraising endeavours.
The site management reserve the right to remove posting privileges from anyone found to be infringing this rule. If you have any doubts about whether the mention of a product, service or link might breach the posting guidelines you are encouraged to use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page and inquire. Bona fide charitable fundraising will generally be looked on favourably.
Commercial advertisers who wish to take paid-for advertisements on the site should contact our advertising representative, Webads.
