Capital One is relaunching its best-buy cashback card, offering 4% cashback on the first £1,500 of purchases appearing on each statement period until 1st August 2008, and 1% cashback on the first £1,500 of purchases in each statement period after this. In addition to this cashback, cardholders also will receive free travel assistance and insurance, including accident, personal effects, cancellation and missed departure insurance. The typical APR is 15.9% APR variable

Cardholders will also be signed up for identity theft assistance, which includes: a free identity alert service that will alert them by email if someone applies for credit in their name; two free credit reports per year; and a free named adviser to provide help at every stage of the recovery and resolution process should they become a victim of identity theft.
