Abbey fixed and flexible rates reduced Print E-mail
20 August 2008

Abbey is cutting rates on fixed and flexible deals from tomorrow. Two and three-year fixed rates are reduced by up to 0.25%, while all flexible offset products are reduced by 0.2% and three-year trackers by 0.1%.

The two-year fixes now start at 5.89% at 70% loan-to-value, and the three-year fixes at 5.79%. All have a fee of £995, except the three-year 70% LTV, which has a fee of £1,295.

Flexible offset mortgages now start from 6.23% with a £1,499 fee. The flexible mortgage comes with a savings pot, to allow borrowers to offset savings against the money owed, reducing the interest charged and helping to pay the mortgage off early.

Three-year tracker products are reduced by 0.1% at 75% LTV, and now start from 5.79%, with a fee of £1,950.

Abbey is also reducing the rates on its fixed-rate low loan, low fee mortgages, which are available for borrowing up to £150,000, starting from 6.04% for three years and  rising to 6.29% with a £549 fee on a five-year fix.
