Alliance & Leicester is offering £100 to current account holders who switch to an Alliance & Leicester Premier Current Account via the internet. The bank says that the new offer is designed to encourage people to 'break free' from their poor value current bank and switch to a better deal. A&L's Premier Current Account offerings include free annual multi-trip European travel and 10 times the interest offered by most big-name banks (paid at a rate of 1% up to £2,500 on the benchmark that most banks pay 0.1%). There is no monthly charge applied to the account, though the £100 will only be credited when it has been operational for 15 weeks.
